Overcome the Complexity of Cloud Automation

Running your infrastructure in the public cloud has the potential to improve the speed and agility of your IT Operations. Cloud automation is the key to realizing this potential.  For many, however, the complexity of operationalizing and scaling cloud automation is slowing or stalling adoption.  At Tuono, we’re looking to change that by offering a fully-integrated cloud automation solution that eliminates the complexity and empowers your team to succeed.

Untested code is broken code

The other day, I sat in on a demo Jesse St. Laurent was giving. The customer had a question about whether a feature worked in a specific scenario. Since it turns out that I wrote the feature, Jesse decided to defer to me. My answer was something to the effect of, “I’m 99% certain it works, but we’ll need to test it to be sure.”  That’s when Jesse told the customer a little about me, “Mike loves tests, and he believes if you haven’t proven something works with a test, then it doesn’t work.”

Just because we’re not in the office doesn’t mean we can’t make Stack cook for us!

We have developed a tradition of monthly engineering team lunches at Tuono. The best part is that we have convinced Mike Stack to cook for us. Mike is a fantastic cook and he loves to cook for a group. So, we like to think of it as a win-win. Mike gets to cook, and we get to eat. Unfortunately, we had to put a pause on our tradition when we switched to working from home in March, so we have been missing our team lunches.

Zero to cloud faster than a cup of coffee

In this demo video, I log into a brand new Tuono account, just as a customer does. I deploy infrastructure to AWS and Azure from a single cloud agnostic blueprint in less than 10 minutes. To keep it interesting, I race against myself creating a cup of French press coffee.

A Look Inside Our Core Values at Tuono

We thought hard about the kind of culture we wanted for the company when we started Tuono almost two years ago. After enough years in the IT industry (probably too many—let’s just say time flies), we’ve witnessed firsthand the vital, long-term impact that culture has on teams, companies, and customers. Culture forms whether you intentionally create it or not.

Tuono Deploy Demo – AWS & Azure Infrastructure as Code

Check out this demo of the Tuono platform deploying a basic infrastructure to AWS and Azure using a single human readable blueprint. We call it Intent based infrastructure. You declare what you want to build and we handle all the cloud details for you. In this example, we deploy a new virtual network, create a couple subnets, create the security policies, and build a few virtual machines.

Infrastructure as Code. It shouldn’t be this hard.

Tuono has removed the complexity from Infrastructure as Code. We have created the Tuono Intent Engine to deliver intent based infrastructure in the public cloud.

The concept of “intent based” has historically been associated with networking, but why not apply it more generally to public cloud infrastructure?

Founding Tuono – My story

I despise inefficiency. I like to think of it as a passion, but others have suggested it’s more of a disorder. I am always trying to figure out the most efficient solution, whether it’s the order of stops for Saturday morning errands or how to pack items into the freezer. Over the years, I have learned that my affliction is not unique.
